Job Description

Among the primary roles will be:

  • Promote a simplified procurement process (from RFQ to Receipt) that emphasizes strong communications between company personnel and suppliers.
  • Ensure RFQs and purchase orders are accurate and exhaustive.
  • Develop qualified vendors to guarantee appropriate competition is present
  • Develop and direct negotiating strategies that maximize company’s position (in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and terms and conditions).
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and understand total procurement costs
  • Understanding and strategic perspective about technology, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Develop sourcing strategies focused on consolidating and leveraging suppliers
  • Support broadly the requirements of company Manufacturing and/or Executing Groups for:
  • On-time deliverables
  • Deliverables that are exhaustive and useful
  • suppliers with prompt reply
  • Competitive prices with an underlying emphasis on ongoing cost reductions
  • Develop and manage a highly dynamic supply base that complements the goals and objectives of company as described by Corporate Objectives, Measurables, and Quantifiers.
  • Direct the purchase of new product innovations
  • Provide assistance for manufacturing production
  • Develop and implement a solid commodity strategy that includes supplier consolidation and expansion.
  • Constant enhancement and quality
  • Effective engineering change management
  • Promote Value analysis and Value Engineering among suppliers
  • Supplier development activities
  • Early engagement and development of suppliers
  • Maximize the financial performance of company in terms of:
  • Reduce expenses by analyzing the entire cost and the major cost driver
  • Continual efforts to cut standard prices
  • Observance of company’s established terms for payment
  • Direct efforts to rationalize and standardize supply chain procedures
  • Encourage transparent and honest communication from the outset to prevent future conflicts.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity while adhering to corporate processes, rules, and directives.
  • Focus on establishing supplier connections with mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Utilize originality and originality when building new processes and procedures.
  • Some travel might be necessary.

Expected qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Material Management, business, or engineering, or comparable experience.
  • Preferred: 10 years of purchasing experience in machine tool, capital equipment, or automation, with evidence of roles in the procurement department.
  • Understanding Uniform Commercial Code and legal and ethical conduct.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of contract terms and conditions
  • Basic ability in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
